Valeria was born in Mexico City and moved to Ithaca, New York as a child with her immediate family. She spent her formative years playing around in nature in Upstate New York while borrowing her father’s archaic camera equipment. The hobby became an obsession. She studied Film and Communication at New York University and later obtained an MFA in Photography while living in Paris, France.
Valeria began her photography career working backstage at Paris Fashion Week and shooting with independent brands in New York and Mexico City. Nature has always been included in her photography work, and her passion for travel led her to re-locate to Vancouver, Canada- where she currently resides.
She loves cooking appetizers and french baguettes, hanging with her dog, watching 90’s comedies, exploring the Canadian Rockies, and photographing people in all shapes and forms as long as plants are allowed somewhere in the frame.
